2025 Dog Licenses NOW available at the City Office!
All dogs that reside within City limits must be registered and licensed. When you get your dog licensed and it becomes lost, the Starbuck Police Department will be able to contact you the owner. The total annual license cost is $10.00 (per dog).
If your dog is found "at large in the City limits" and your dog is brought to the Pope County Humane Society by the Starbuck Police Department you will first need to pay the $30.00 pick up fee and the $10 license fee at the Starbuck City office and bring the receipt of payment to the Pope County Humane Society prior to your dog being released. The Pope County Humane Society also will have fees for impounded dogs (see below). You also may be issued a "Dog at Large" citation.
Pope County Humane Society impound policy release fee is $50 for 1st offense and $75 per 2nd offense (+$10 per day up to 5 days). The Humane Society does not board animals. For more information about the Pope County Humane Society please visit: Lost and Found | Pope County Humane Society.
