2024 Dog Licenses NOW available at the City Office!

All dogs that reside within City limits must be registered and licensed. When you get your dog licensed and it becomes lost, the Starbuck Police Department will be able to contact the owner.  The total annual license cost is $10.00 (per dog).

If you dog is found "at large in the City limits" the Starbuck Police Department will charge a $30.00 pick up fee, and if you don't have a license you must purchase one prior to your dog being released. You also may be issued a "Dog at Large" citation.

Also, in extreme weather conditions, such as excessive heat or cold your dog will be transported to the Pope County Humane Society, which you will have to pay their boarding fees, which may cost $75.00 or more. In addition, you will have to pay the Starbuck Police Department the $30.00 dollar pick up fee; and if you don't have a license, you must purchase one before your dog will be released.
